The word Deseret comes from the ancient word for honeybee and represents the philosophy of Mabuhay Deseret. In a beehive, all the honeybees contribute to make something sweet. In the same way, Mabuhay works with the community and local Filipino doctors to facilitate life changing surgeries for thousands of Filipinos every year since 1988.
Local doctors volunteer their time while local hospitals provide substantial discounts on the use of their facilities.
Patients and their family members contribute by cooking and by cleaning at recuperative houses.
